About the Georgian Triangle Anglers’ Association
Finding Inspiration in Every Cast

The Georgian Triangle Anglers’ Association (GTAA) is a volunteer‑driven, non‑profit conservation organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing fish populations and aquatic habitats throughout the southern Georgian Bay region. Founded in the mid‑1980s by a small group of passionate local anglers, the association has grown into a cornerstone of conservation in the Collingwood area, with a strong focus on sustainability, education, and community involvement.
At the heart of GTAA’s work is its fish hatchery program, where volunteers raise thousands of trout each year for release into local waters. This hands‑on effort supports healthy sport fisheries and helps maintain the ecological balance of our rivers, streams, and lakes. In addition to stocking, the association is actively involved in habitat restoration projects, stream improvements, and environmental stewardship initiatives that benefit both wildlife and the broader community.
GTAA also plays an important role in education and outreach. Through youth programs, school partnerships, and public events like fishing derbies and hatchery tours, the association works to inspire the next generation of conservationists and anglers. By sharing knowledge and fostering respect for the natural environment, GTAA helps ensure that local fisheries can be enjoyed for years to come.
